Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Mossville, IL
Details: 18-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role
Pay Rate: $37.00 – 39.50/hr. with benefit inclusions

Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for reviewing and evaluating Non-Conforming Material (NCM) reports across multiple facilities, ensuring alignment with defined quality standards. This role collaborates closely with internal quality teams and Supplier Development Engineers (SDEs) to determine proper disposition, drive Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA), and support overall product integrity. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewed NCM reports from assigned facilities and ensured all requirements aligned with MQ4006 standards were properly documented.
  • Collaborated with Supplier Development Engineers, facility teams, and suppliers to drive timely disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Led Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to address quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
  • Tracked and monitored open NCM cases, maintaining visibility and driving closure within established timelines.
  • Facilitated weekly meetings to review open NCMs and assess previously dispositioned cases.
  • Analyzed NCM data to confirm compliance with required thresholds and quality expectations.
  • Maintained and updated monthly scorecards to track performance metrics for procurement quality activities.
  • Interpreted blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to assess product quality and conformance.

Years of Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience acceptable with a master’s degree.
  • Internship experience may be considered toward overall experience requirements.

Skills Required

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex quality issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with SAP QM and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and track ongoing quality issues.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
