Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential for Full-Time Conversion)
Pay Rate: $70-73/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst II to support enterprise-wide cybersecurity initiatives and provide security guidance for business and technology projects. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to assess risks, recommend security controls, support cloud security initiatives, and help ensure compliance with organizational security standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct security risk and threat assessments for infrastructure and application projects.
  • Provide security consultation and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and recommend security controls for cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Collaborate with project teams, architects, and IT leadership to drive security adoption.
  • Evaluate vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Support security architecture discussions and security tooling initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Contribute to incident investigations and corrective action planning.
  • Monitor emerging security threats, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of information security or cybersecurity experience.
  • Experience performing security risk assessments and threat analysis.
  • Knowledge of security controls, network security, encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention technologies.
  • Experience supporting cloud security initiatives (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Strong understanding of security policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP, CCSP, Security+, Network+, PMP, or similar certifications.
  • Experience in security consulting or advisory roles.
  • Insurance or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • Exposure to security architecture reviews and enterprise security programs.
