Pay Rate: $77.50 – $82 per hour
We are seeking a Laboratory Engineer for a position in Fremont, California. The ideal candidate will bring 4+ years of hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and test equipment, along with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. This role involves configuring and calibrating lab systems, conducting advanced electrical and optical testing, managing lab inventory and procurement, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize, calibrate, and configure lab testing systems and instruments
- Conduct electrical circuit testing, signal integrity analysis, I-V and RF tests, and optical microscopy
- Manage procurement and inventory control of lab supplies and equipment
- Provide technical support and training to lab technicians and engineers
- Ensure compliance with ISO accreditations and audit requirements
- Generate detailed technical reports and deliver presentations
- Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills
- 4+ years of experience working with lab instrumentation and basic test equipment
- Familiarity with procurement processes and inventory management for lab supplies and equipment
- Competency in configuring, calibrating, and operating electronic test instruments
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- 4+ years of hands-on industry experience with lab tools and test equipment
- Strong background in electrical testing, optical methods, and design tools (SolidWorks, 3D printing, CT scanning)
- Expertise in lab equipment protocols, calibration, and configuration
- Experience in procurement and inventory management
- Knowledge of ISO accreditation and audit processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Python programming
- Foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Familiarity with materials analysis techniques (DSC, TGA, XRF, FTIR)
