Title: Line Support Engineer
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Details: 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role
Pay Rate: $35.00 – 38.50/hr. based on benefit inclusions
Job Summary
Onsite Design Engineer supporting a windrower platform production line in Ottumwa, IA. This role focuses on providing day-to-day design support, troubleshooting production issues, and evaluating design changes to improve cost, quality, and performance within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on design support and troubleshooting for the windrower platform production line.
- Develop, evaluate, and recommend design solutions to improve product cost, quality, and performance.
- Define and maintain engineering specifications to resolve routine design issues and support production needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply management, and suppliers as needed.
- Analyze and support test plans used for product verification and validation of design changes.
- Support production schedules by working flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
Years of Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field or equivalent related work experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production support, or design engineering environment.
Skills Required
- Experience using Creo or similar CAD software.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively while working within cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with product verification and validation processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with SAP.
- Knowledge of assembly line processes and related documentation.
- Experience with weld processes and weld documentation.
