Location: Morton, IL
Details: 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role
Pay Rate: $21.00 – 22.75/hr. based on benefit inclusions

Job Summary
This role provides frontline support for U.S. trade operations by monitoring and resolving issues related to import and export processes. The position supports a Trade Operations Help Desk by triaging trade-related cases, responding to user inquiries, troubleshooting system, application, and data issues, and escalating complex problems as needed. The role also contributes to documentation updates, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage trade-related tickets through a Help Desk queue during designated support hours.
  • Triage and prioritize cases based on business impact to U.S. import and export shipments.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external users with clear status updates and resolution guidance.
  • Troubleshoot system, application, and data-related issues, including executing basic SQL queries as needed.
  • Accurately document ticket details, including issue descriptions, categories, severity, timelines, and business impact.
  • Identify recurring issues by analyzing ticket trends and perform root cause corrective actions.
  • Recommend and document procedural improvements, configuration changes, user communications, or training opportunities to reduce repeat issues.
  • Provide periodic summaries highlighting key issue drivers, corrective actions taken, and improvement results.
  • Support additional trade operations or system-improvement projects as assigned.

Years of Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in trade operations, transportation, supply chain support, or a related help desk environment.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Internship experience may be considered depending on relevance to the work performed.

Skills Required

  • Experience supporting supply chain, global trade, transportation, or logistics operations.
  • Customer-facing experience in a help desk or ticket-based issue resolution environment.
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to accuracy and completeness.
  • End-user experience with Salesforce analytics tools.
  • End-user experience with Power BI.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to execute basic SQL queries (desired).
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
