Manufacturing Engineer II – Fabrication
Location: Dubuque, IA (Onsite)
Pay: $47 – $49/hr
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Overtime: Available as needed
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to support fabrication and manufacturing operations in Dubuque, IA. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes related to machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, and production equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, experience driving process improvements, and the ability to collaborate across production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing processes and determine methods, tooling, equipment, and resources required to support production.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Design and evaluate manufacturing solutions through testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and identify root causes of manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support engineering and production objectives.
  • Evaluate existing processes and implement improvements through established change management practices.
  • Support product launches and production readiness activities.
  • Manage engineering projects and deliverables within established schedules and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing and production teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience supporting machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, manufacturing equipment, or similar production environments.
  • Experience developing, testing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications and technical documentation.
  • Experience working within production and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Experience coordinating engineering activities with suppliers or external partners.
  • Knowledge of project management, budgeting, or cost reduction initiatives.
  • Experience conducting feasibility studies and validating manufacturing solutions.
  • Continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience creating engineering reports, documentation, and technical specifications.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and production facility environment.
  • Metatarsal safety boots required on the first day.
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs.
