Manufacturing Engineer I – Factory Engineering
Location: Davenport, Iowa (Onsite)
Pay: $40 – $42/Per Hour
Shift: 1st Shift (Generally 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Employment Type: 12-Month Contract
Schedule: Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.

Overview

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support daily assembly operations and production activities. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates and early-career engineers looking to gain hands-on manufacturing experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support to assembly and production operations to maintain workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, tooling, and material-related issues on the shop floor.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Create and manage work orders and assist with basic fixture and tooling design.
  • Utilize systems such as SAP, Microsoft Office, and manufacturing planning tools to support production operations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Analyze production challenges and develop effective solutions to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Recent engineering graduates and entry-level engineers are encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant manufacturing or production experience will also be considered.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Manufacturing engineering experience or internship exposure.
  • Experience supporting assembly operations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow within manufacturing engineering.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Work performed in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Metatarsal footwear required.
  • All other required PPE will be provided.
