Position Overview

This role provides hands-on manufacturing engineering support for 3rd shift fabrication operations, ensuring production continuity, process reliability, and timely issue resolution. The Manufacturing Engineer II will work closely with production operators, maintenance, and support teams to troubleshoot equipment and process issues, drive improvements, and maintain standardized work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support 3rd shift production to maintain safety, quality, and throughput targets

Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving:

Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

Automated and manual welding processes

Robotic welding systems (Fanuc preferred)

Assist in execution, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes

Partner with operators and maintenance to identify root causes and implement corrective actions

Provide on-shift guidance and training to operators on equipment, processes, and standard work

Document troubleshooting activities, process updates, and engineering changes

Support implementation of engineering projects and process development initiatives

Monitor and follow up on work tickets and escalations to ensure closure
Required Qualifications
-
Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
-
Hands-on experience with manual and/or robotic welding systems (Fanuc preferred)

Strong troubleshooting skills in automated and manual production processes

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an off-shift environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

Ability to manage competing priorities and work through ambiguous situations
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting MES systems in a production environment

Background in fabrication, welding, or heavy equipment manufacturing

Ability to work a fixed 3rd shift schedule

Willingness to work overtime and weekends based on production demands

Demonstrated ability to document work and follow established processes
