Pay Rate: $60.00-$68.00/hour
Schedule: Split Shift Requirement (Must be able to work both shifts)

About the Opportunity
Our client, Cummins, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer V to support critical launch activities and manufacturing process development initiatives at their Columbus, Indiana facility. This is a highly visible role requiring strong technical expertise in manufacturing engineering, robotics, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading manufacturing projects, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, working with robotic automation, and supporting production launches within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development for assigned projects.
- Support VPI (Virtual Product Introduction) and product launch activities.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Design and standardize manufacturing methods, work instructions, and best practices.
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to support manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, suppliers, and leadership teams to achieve project objectives.
- Analyze manufacturing data and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to stakeholders and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety, ergonomic, and manufacturing standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with Fanuc HandlingTool and/or Fanuc ArcTool.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience with manufacturing process development, equipment selection, tooling design, and production optimization.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience
- Product launch or VPI support experience.
- Robotics and automation integration.
- Continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Process validation and manufacturing documentation development.
Work Schedule (Must Be Flexible)
This position requires candidates to work both of the following schedules:
First 6 Months:
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Second 6 Months:
- Monday – Friday
- 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Some flexibility may be available based on business needs.
Interview Process
- 60-minute onsite interview with the hiring team.
- Candidates must be available to interview onsite in Columbus, IN.
Important Notes
- This is a fully onsite position; remote or hybrid work is not available.
- Candidates must be comfortable working the required split-shift schedule.
- Only candidates with the required FANUC and GD&T experience will be considered.
- Contract duration is expected to be 12 months, with potential for extension based on business needs.
