Role Overview
The Marketplace Manager will own the strategy, performance, and execution of the eCommerce Marketplace, with a focus on category growth, profitability, and omnichannel optimization. This role partners cross-functionally with marketing, marketplace partners, and internal stakeholders to drive revenue, conversion, and customer experience improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the eCommerce Marketplace strategy, improving omnichannel presence and optimizing the Marketplace as a product.
- Drive growth for Harman Audio, JBL, IoT categories, and other marketplace initiatives through monthly and quarterly business planning and hands-on execution.
- Partner with marketplace vendors to develop joint business plans and align investments to achieve sales targets.
- Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics, including traffic, conversion funnels, promotional lift, and marketing effectiveness.
- Lead bottoms-up planning and forecasting based on category-level promotional and marketing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Channel Marketing to develop campaigns, improve content, and refine customer messaging to increase traffic and qualified visits.
- Analyze promotional performance by customer cohorts to inform targeted offer strategies.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen collaboration with carriers and increase overall connected TV sales.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations detailing business strategies, plans, performance results, and deep-dive analyses.
- Monitor model-level profitability and identify optimization opportunities to improve overall profit margins.
- Maintain strong awareness of industry trends, seasonality, competitive activity, and major market events.
- Conduct financial analysis to meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets.
- Create and manage promotional copy, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and execution across site and marketing channels.
- Continuously evaluate the end-to-end customer journey and provide direction to supporting teams to maximize conversion and customer experience.
Background & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in eCommerce marketplaces.
- Proven ability to drive business execution and deliver against revenue and profit targets.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with shifting priorities.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; high proficiency in Excel required, Tableau preferred.
- Structured, process-oriented problem solver with an agile approach to execution.
