Job Title: Materials Engineer II
Location: Onsite in Redmond, WA
Contract Length: 12 months, W2
Pay Rate: $56-58/hr
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Materials Engineer to support cutting-edge projects in materials science and engineering. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and uphold the highest standards in developing and applying materials for optical components.
Responsibilities:
- Lead R&D efforts in materials and interfaces, focusing on innovative solutions for inkjet printing of ophthalmic lenses.
- Analyze, test, and characterize materials to ensure alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to integrate new materials into existing processes.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in materials research, development, and testing.
- Ability to work in a chemical laboratory or cleanroom environment and operate tools for experiments and metrology.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with polymer material and formulation development for optical coatings.
- Experience with 3D printing.
- Experience with material and optical characterization tools.
- PhD preferred.
