Pay Rate: $35.00 – 38.30/hr. with benefit inclusions

Job Summary
The Test Engineer will support performance and durability testing of electric drive components and systems within a laboratory environment. This role is responsible for developing and executing test plans, preparing and instrumenting test articles, analyzing data, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and communicating results to cross-functional engineering teams. The position offers hands-on exposure to electrification technologies while working closely with product development, controls, simulation, and test engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute performance and durability test plans for electric drive components and systems.
  • Coordinate test article modifications, instrumentation, installation, and test setup activities.
  • Operate laboratory test equipment and oversee testing activities to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Analyze test data, summarize findings, and provide technical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to test stands, control systems, instrumentation, and mechanical systems.
  • Document test procedures, results, and observations in technical reports and presentations.
  • Lead routine project update meetings and communicate testing progress to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with design, controls, simulation, and other cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and laboratory capabilities.
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads while taking ownership of assigned test programs.

Years of Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2–4 years of engineering experience in testing, product development, or a related technical field.
  • Internship experience will be considered toward overall experience requirements.

Skills Required

  • Experience developing and executing engineering test programs.
  • Product development experience within an engineering environment.
  • Strong mechanical system troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Knowledge of electric drive systems, motors, generators, or related technologies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.
  • Preferred: Experience with DEWESoft data acquisition systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with CANape software.
