Mechanical Engineer | Tucson, AZ | Onsite | 12-Month Contract

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a team focused on large mining truck and off-highway vehicle engine installation and cooling systems. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy product design, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and working on complex mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.

Location: Tucson, AZ
Schedule: First Shift, Monday-Friday (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $36 – $38 an hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and validate mechanical systems and components for off-highway equipment.
  • Create and modify 3D models, engineering drawings, and design documentation using Creo or similar CAD software.
  • Support engine installation and cooling system designs, including tube and hose routing, fabricated structures, mounting systems, and related components.
  • Review engineering specifications, drawings, and schematics to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Investigate equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, quality, suppliers, and engineering teams to support production and product improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate engineering changes, drawing updates, and implementation activities across multiple projects.
  • Review field performance data and incorporate lessons learned into future designs.
  • Present technical updates and recommendations to stakeholders while meeting project timelines and quality objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience (internship experience may be considered).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Creo (Pro/E) or similar CAD modeling software.
  • Experience with product design, validation testing, simulation, or product development.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Teamcenter or similar product lifecycle management software.
  • Experience with simulation or analysis tools such as Creo Simulate or equivalent.
  • Background in manufacturing, design, validation, or quality engineering.
  • Experience supporting heavy equipment, automotive, industrial machinery, or related products.
