Mechanical Engineer 
Pay: $35 – $38 an hr

Location: Mossville, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 24-Month Contract
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join a large product quality engineering team focused on improving product reliability, resolving field quality concerns, and driving continuous product improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys leading cross-functional projects, leveraging data analytics, and collaborating with technical teams to solve complex product issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects focused on identifying and resolving customer-reported product quality issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product support, manufacturing, supplier, and customer-facing teams to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Analyze warranty and field performance data to identify trends, assess risk, and support continuous product improvement initiatives.
  • Research, design, develop, and evaluate mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs by assessing carry-over risk and product quality concerns.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and analytical tools used to monitor quality performance and trends.
  • Communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with 2+ years of experience.
    • OR Associate’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical engineering background and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Data analytics experience using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, DMAIC, DFMEA, DOE, or related quality tools.
  • Product development, validation, engine design, or supplier management experience.
  • Experience presenting technical information to leadership teams.
  • Black Belt, Master Black Belt, or CPI certification.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working closely with engineering, product support, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams.
  • Leading investigations into product quality concerns and driving resolution plans.
  • Utilizing data analytics to improve visibility into product performance and quality trends.
  • Supporting customer and dealer communications regarding product improvements and corrective actions.
  • Managing multiple projects while balancing quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
