.NET Developer – Mainframe

Position Summary
We are seeking an Intermediate .NET Developer with Mainframe development experience to support and enhance mission-critical enterprise applications within a hybrid technology environment consisting of legacy mainframe systems and modern Microsoft technologies.
This position will focus on application development, maintenance, modernization, system integrations, reporting solutions, and production support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe technologies, C#/.NET, SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS, along with the ability to analyze legacy applications and help bridge them with modern application architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, interpret, and support legacy Easytrieve/EasyPlus applications running on IBM Mainframe platforms.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and application solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy application enhancements and defect fixes.
- Develop and maintain applications and supporting utilities using C# and .NET technologies.
- Support batch processing, data transformation, and enterprise integration workflows.
- Develop and maintain reports, extracts, and data distribution processes.
- Build and support ETL solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Design and maintain reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
- Monitor and resolve production issues while maintaining system stability and data integrity.
- Participate in application modernization and legacy system migration initiatives.
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, application specifications, and support procedures.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
- Support unit, integration, regression, architecture, and user acceptance testing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–7 years of professional software development experience.
- 3+ years of IBM Mainframe development experience.
- Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework and/or .NET Core.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
- Significant familiarity with CMS 835 and 837 healthcare claim file elements and standards.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience parsing, generating, or troubleshooting ANSI ASC X12 HIPAA transactions, particularly 837 claims and 835 Electronic Remittance Advice transactions.
- Experience integrating mainframe applications with distributed platforms and APIs.
- Knowledge of ETL design and data transformation best practices.
- Familiarity with REST and SOAP web services.
- Experience with secure file transfers and enterprise data integration workflows.
- Experience with enterprise reporting and document generation solutions.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services.
- Experience within healthcare, insurance, financial services, government, or another highly regulated environment.
