Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Pay: $38-$43 per hour based on benefits 

Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Paralegal to support the Payment Services team. This role is responsible for conducting contract research, developing and maintaining standardized forms, templates, agreements, and notices. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and coverage attorneys to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and efficient. The position will help increase velocity and reduce cycle time by streamlining contract processes and ensuring strong governance controls are in place.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on Payment Services contracts, agreements, and related documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and legal requirements
  • Draft, update, and maintain Payment Services contract templates, form agreements, notices, and standardized documentation
  • Coordinate with coverage attorneys and internal business partners to resolve contract-related issues, clarify language, and ensure alignment with business and legal requirements
  • Support review and approval cycles by identifying issues, tracking progress, and escalating risks where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain a repository of standardized legal forms and templates to drive efficiency and consistency across the Payment Services organization
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Payment Services stakeholders to improve processes that reduce cycle time, increase throughput, and maintain proper governance
  • Provide procedural guidance to business partners and ensure compliance with internal governance standard

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of paralegal or contracts experience, preferably in financial services or payments
  • Contract drafting and review (with financial services or payment services exposure)
  • Familiarity with form agreements, notices, and templates
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting payment services, merchant agreements, or financial institutions
  • Knowledge of contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and governance processes
