| Duties: | Responsible for researching and improving current techniques for assessing the performance of fossil fuel, hybrid, and electric propulsion systems; provide direct support for time-based transfer path analysis activities; perform transient response analysis to assess the response to torsional transients; develop time-based signals for sound and vibration from analytical models; enhance the process of information sharing between organizations to support timely studies in connection with vehicle noise and vibration transmission with fuel systems; work with cross-functional teams across the organization to help optimize overall work; utilize and apply knowledge of Structure Dynamics, FEA, FRF/NTF measurements, CATIA, Sound Intensity Testing/Analysis, 3D modeling, GD&T, data acquisition strategies, Advanced Thermal Analysis, Fluid/Structure/Multi-material Interaction Analysis, Thermo-Mechanical Coupled CAE, Robotic Fixture/Mold Vibration-damping Design, Statistical Process Control, End-of-Line Testing Development, Transfer Path Analysis (TPA), Dynamic Modal Analysis, and Siemens LMS/Test.Lab to perform assigned tasks; provide support for physical testing and simulator evaluations; develop and customize simulation models and scripts; design and execute vehicle-level tests in order to collect, correlate and validate accurate NVH target simulations; and develop and execute comprehensive vehicle-level road test procedures and NVH data acquisition strategies for benchmarking battery electric and hybrid vehicle. | Minimum Qualifications: | Education: Masters’s – Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree); Training: None; Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Design Release Engineer (Body Component), as a Product/Process Engineer, as a NVH Simulation Engineer, as a Research Assistant, as a Laboratory Assistant, or in a related occupation; Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years use of all the following: 3D modeling, GD&T, data acquisition strategies, Advanced Thermal Analysis, Fluid/Structure/Multi-material Interaction Analysis, Thermo-Mechanical Coupled CAE, Robotic Fixture/Mold Vibration-damping Design, Statistical Process Control, End-of-Line Testing Development, and Dynamic Modal Analysis. Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience. |
