Title: Occupational Health Nurse
Location: Peoria, IL
Details: 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role.
This position will be primarily responsible for 2nd and 3rd shift coverage. Will have opportunities for 1st shift coverage when off-shift is not requested – this role will be responsible for coverage for all 11 facilities in the Greater Peoria area.
Pay Rate: $55.00 – $58.00/hr. with benefit inclusions
Job Summary: The Occupational Health Nurse is an advanced nurse generalist responsible for the daily clinic administration and delivery of occupational nursing practices. This role operates either in a large high-volume multidisciplinary medical clinic/shift or a smaller stand-alone focus facility clinic, requiring significant autonomy and individual accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing services related to employee illness and injury.
- Function autonomously, responding independently to clinical and administrative demands, seeking consultation when needed.
- Lead on-site medical emergency responses.
- Act as the local liaison with contracted occupational health providers.
- Manage clinical administration, including delegating duties to clinic staff, maintaining clinic order, delivering new employee orientation presentations, and maintaining metrics and documentation.
- Liaise between the local facility and the Corporate Medical Department to ensure medical services meet facility leadership and employee expectations.
- Support local Human Resources and facility leadership in health, safety, productivity, and engagement initiatives.
- Participate in the local Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Support Disability Case Management activities.
- Assist in determining the work-relatedness of injuries, complying with governmental regulations, and conducting investigations.
- Deliver wellness communication and on-site wellness programming.
- Engage in special projects and program delivery.
- Conduct DOT drug testing and fit-for-duty evaluations.
- Perform OSHA mandated and other surveillance exams.
- Innovate and improve occupational medical practices.
Years of Experience and Education:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible job-related experience in occupational medicine or acute care.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or extensive experience.
- Certifications in related fields highly desirable.

- Flexibility to help cover for vacations
