Packaging Engineer

About the Role
Join our dynamic team focused on delivering cost-competitive, high-quality packaging solutions for new product components. This role is critical to ensuring proper containment, protection, and transportation optimization across our supply network.
Key Contributions:
- Secure packaging for new product components
- Drive cost competitiveness and quality assurance
- Support engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers in packaging design
What You’ll Do
- Design packaging for transport efficiency and ergonomic assembly line storage
- Validate new packaging during pilot phases
- Develop kitting/sequencing packaging for in-plant use
- Resolve safety or quality issues related to packaging
- Perform containerization analysis and manage returnable packaging maintenance
- Lead medium- to high-risk Green Belt projects with product and logistics teams
- Collaborate with facilities on packaging issues for receiving, warehousing, and delivery
Work Environment
- Office setting with exposure to production/manufacturing areas
- Frequent interaction with project and core team members
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Packaging Engineering preferred
- Mechanical, Industrial, or Supply Chain Engineering degrees accepted
Experience:
- 2+ years in packaging design or project management
Technical Skills:
- 3D modeling or Creo experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and modeling software
- Advanced packaging/transportation knowledge
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Critical thinking and innovative problem-solving
- Presentation skills for management-level communication
