Job Title: Payroll Tax Analyst
 Contract Duration: 3 months
 Location: Salem, OR
 Work Arrangement: Remote
 Pay Range: $37-$43/hour
Summary
 The Payroll Tax Analyst will create, update, and manage online usernames and passwords for all eight of our companies across nearly all 50 states. This will be the most time-intensive aspect of the role. This person will assist with the closure of State and Local Tax agency accounts and filing zero returns for a company where all employees have been transitioned to another entity. Additionally, they will support the application process for new state and local tax accounts in select jurisdictions as needed.
Responsibilities
 Credential Management
- Create, update, and manage usernames and passwords for payroll tax accounts across all applicable state and local agencies.
 - Navigate complex access recovery processes for accounts previously set up by former team members.
 - Maintain a secure and organized record of all login credentials.
 
Account Closures and Filings
- Assist in closing out state and local tax accounts for a company that has transitioned all employees to another entity.
 - File zero returns where required to ensure proper account closure and compliance.
 
New Account Setup
- Identify jurisdictions where new payroll tax accounts are needed and complete applications accordingly.
 
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all actions are documented thoroughly and comply with applicable state and local regulations.
 - Collaborate with internal payroll and tax teams to ensure alignment and accuracy.
 
Qualifications
- Must have prior experience performing these tasks and be able to work with minimal assistance.
 - The ideal candidate will be resourceful and proactive, capable of managing these obstacles and jumping in with little to no training.
 - Obtaining access has proven to be labor-intensive and full of roadblocks.
 - This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
 - Proven experience in payroll tax operations across multiple states.
 - Strong understanding of state and local tax agency systems and requirements.
 - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
 - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
 - Experience with credential recovery and account management in complex environments.
 - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
 
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with multi-entity payroll structures.
 - Experience with tax software or payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday).
 - Knowledge of compliance requirements for account closures and zero filings.
