Job Title: Design Release Engineer – High Voltage Wiring Harness

Location: Dearborn, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time, W2 

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Design Release Engineer to lead the design and release of high-voltage wiring harnesses from concept through launch. This role involves managing DVP timing, coordinating DV testing activities, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and quality processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage DVP timing, milestones, and test classifications.
  • Generate DVP with inputs from Design & Release engineers; propose test methods using benchmarking.
  • Lead DV testing activities with D&R teams and suppliers; create DV plans for cost reduction ideas.
  • Track closure of DVs and ensure Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) are completed.
  • Oversee part ordering for DVP validation and sign-off.
  • Support creation and maintenance of SCCAF, DFMEA, and CPAW documentation.
  • Review durability and PV testing; support on-site evaluations in manufacturing plants.
  • Drive quality initiatives, lessons learned dashboards, and campaign prevention events.
  • Apply Six Sigma and 8D methodologies.

Skills & Experience:

  • Required:

    • 5–10 years of wiring harness design and vehicle launch experience.
    • Basic 3D CAD knowledge (3DX preferred; TeamCenter, CATIA considered).
    • Understanding of PPAP process and feature partitioning.
    • Solid automotive engineering knowledge in wiring harness design.
  • Preferred:

    • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics).
    • CAD experience (3DX, CATIA, TeamCenter).
    • Knowledge of manufacturing quality documentation (PFMEA, control plans).
    • Component testing experience (bench/dyno/vehicle).
    • Familiarity with AI tools and resources.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
