Job Title: Product/Design Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Dearborn, MI
Job Type: W2 Contract
Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: 8-5pm EST Monday – Thursday (on-site) AND Friday (remote)
Pay Range: $40-$42 per hour
Summary
Our automotive client is seeking a skilled Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineer to lead the design and release of switch components used across our vehicles. This role blends electrical, mechanical, software, and vehicle?level engineering, offering broad exposure and ownership from concept through launch.
What You’ll Do

Own the design, development, validation, and release of switch components.

Partner with cross?functional teams (suppliers, program teams, studio, ergonomics, purchasing) to meet performance, cost, and timing targets.

Guide suppliers in delivering DFMEA, DVP&R, 8D, specifications, drawings, and quality documentation.

Conduct technical design reviews and support development of engineering and diagnostic specifications.

Resolve component issues using Ford development tools and support vehicle launches as needed.

Drive continuous improvement using lessons learned and quality feedback.
What You Bring

3+ years of experience developing electromechanical or electrical/electronic components (automotive preferred).

Background in Design & Release engineering with strong analytical and problem?solving skills.

Experience working with suppliers and cross?functional teams.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering (Master of Science preferred).
