Job Title: Design Verification & Product Validation Engineer
Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid)
Job Type: W2 Contract
Expected Hours per Week: 40
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4 days per week onsite
Pay Range: $46-48 per hour 

Position Description:
This role is responsible for leading Design Verification Planning (DVP) and Product Validation (PV) activities for automotive electrical systems, with a primary focus on high-voltage wiring harnesses. The engineer will own validation planning, cross-functional coordination, supplier collaboration, testing, quality support, and execution through vehicle launch in accordance with Ford GPDS and program milestones. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Design Verification Plans (DVPs) and Product Validation (PV) activities.
  • Develop validation strategies, test plans, and prototype requirements.
  • Coordinate validation with engineering, suppliers, manufacturing, and testing teams.
  • Track validation progress, engineering changes, and program milestones.
  • Support vehicle launches, quality improvements, and warranty investigations.
  • Lead Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) and maintain validation documentation.
  • Support DFMEA, PPAP, APQP, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of automotive engineering experience.
  • 5–10 years of wiring harness or automotive electrical systems experience.
  • Experience leading Design Verification (DV) and Product Validation (PV).
  • Experience creating and managing Design Verification Plans (DVPs).
  • Ford GPDS and vehicle launch experience.
  • PPAP and automotive product development experience.
  • Experience using TeamCenter and/or CATIA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering degree preferred; Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering acceptable.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with high-voltage wiring harnesses.
  • Experience with Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS).
  • Manufacturing or validation engineering experience.
  • Bench, dyno, or vehicle testing experience.
  • Cost estimation experience.
  • Experience with 3DX, WERS, Falcon, RPS, eCAR, DCCS, or ACCS.
  • Experience using AI productivity tools.

  • Vehicle launch experience.
  • TeamCenter and/or CATIA experience.
  • PPAP knowledge.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional validation efforts with engineering, suppliers, quality, and manufacturing.

Additional Information:

  • Hybrid role requiring 4 days per week in the office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • This is a Validation Leadership role, not a traditional Design & Release position.
  • Candidates from other automotive systems may be considered if they have significant DV/PV leadership experience.
