Pay: $36.00-42.00/hr

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer to support the production of vehicle lines at the Kansas City Assembly Plant. In this role, you will serve as the first line of defense for vehicle electrical system quality, partnering with Product Development, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues affecting vehicle performance and customer satisfaction.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a background in electrical systems, software quality, product engineering, or automotive manufacturing who enjoys root cause analysis, hands-on troubleshooting, and driving continuous product improvement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver vehicle line quality and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Manage warranty claim investigations, issue tracking, and corrective action implementation.
  • Identify and lead high-impact warranty reduction and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate external customer concerns and drive improvements in internal measurement and containment systems.
  • Lead and coordinate issue resolution activities across Product Development, Supplier Quality, and Production teams.
  • Support vehicle launch activities including:
    • Part signoffs
    • Electrical testing
    • Production validation
    • Issue resolution
  • Lead production trials and evaluate electrical system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with repair of vehicle electrical and software-related concerns.
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor quality metrics and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Product Engineer, Quality Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or related engineering role.
  • Experience working in an electrical, electronic, software, or systems engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as:
    • 8D
    • 5 Why Analysis
    • Six Sigma tools
    • Root Cause Analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive product quality or electrical systems engineering.
  • Automotive manufacturing or assembly plant experience.
  • Six Sigma certification or formal training.
  • Experience with:

    • QED
    • SREA
    • WERS
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture including:
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • Electronic modules
    • Sensors and switches
    • 12V battery systems
    • Module software and hardware
    • CAN networking
    • OBD diagnostic systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborate across multiple departments.
