Job Title: Product Engineer II – Mechanical & Electrical
Location: Onsite in Fuquay-Varina, NC
Type: W2 contract, 24 months, possible extension
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (occasional OT as needed)
Pay: $60-$66 / hour + possible benefits!
John Deere Turf Care is seeking a Product Engineer II with a strong blend of mechanical and electrical design experience to support mower and battery?powered commercial equipment programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical and electrical subsystems for mowers and battery electric equipment
- Support requirements development and testing for electrical components (lights, alarms, diagnostics)
- Create 3D models and detailed drawings using PTC Creo; support PDM workflows
- Concept, prototype, and release brackets, weldments, plastics, and castings
- Perform hands-on equipment builds, upgrades, diagnostics, and repairs in the shop
- Collaborate daily with Product Design, Electrical Engineering, Marketing, Program Management, Test, and Systems teams
- Support machine builds, in-field testing, and customer feedback activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of mechanical design experience and 2+ years of electrical design experience
- Proficiency with PTC Creo
- Experience with off-highway or similar equipment
- Ability to perform hands-on assembly, testing, and repair
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous John Deere experience
- Casting and plastics design experience
- Mechatronics, electrical software, or control systems exposure
