Position Overview
We are seeking a Product Engineer with experience in powertrain emissions, aftertreatment systems, and engine testing to support advanced emissions development and validation activities. This role involves hands-on testing, data analysis, calibration optimization, and technical reporting to ensure compliance with future emissions standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and support vehicle, engine, and powertrain dynamometer testing.
- Validate low-emission technologies against current and future emissions standards.
- Identify testing and calibration issues and communicate findings to technical teams.
- Analyze emissions and test data, extracting key insights and recommendations.
- Develop and optimize engine emissions calibrations to improve aftertreatment performance.
- Create technical reports and presentations to communicate testing results and next steps.
- Manage test assets, including vehicle configurations, fuel types, calibration levels, and hardware status.
- Support test planning activities and submit weekly test requests.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in emissions development, emissions testing, or powertrain calibration.
- Strong understanding of internal combustion engines and emissions control systems.
- Experience with test planning, data acquisition, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of emissions regulations, certification processes, and emissions reduction technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and provide technical recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of emissions testing, calibration, or product development experience.
- Experience supporting programs from concept through production.
- Advanced knowledge of engine and emissions system analysis and optimization.
