Product Owner 3 | Digital Product & Agile Leadership | Mossville, IL
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of high-value digital products supporting enterprise operations. This role will partner closely with Scrum teams, business stakeholders, and technical leaders to maximize product value while driving Agile best practices across complex initiatives.
Location: Mossville, IL
Work Arrangement: Onsite, Full-Time
Duration: 12-Month Contract (with potential for extension)
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Travel: Up to 25% Domestic Travel
Pay: $50-$55/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog for large, complex, business-critical initiatives.
- Prioritize features, enhancements, and user stories based on business value.
- Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, and sprint objectives.
- Act as the primary decision-maker regarding product functionality and priorities.
- Collaborate closely with Scrum Masters, Developers, Architects, and key stakeholders.
- Refine epics and features into actionable user stories for sprint execution.
- Participate in Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, and Daily Scrum activities as needed.
- Inspect deliverables at the end of each sprint and accept or reject completed work.
- Determine release priorities, timelines, and content.
- Serve as the voice of the customer and advocate for business needs throughout the development lifecycle.
- Communicate project status, risks, and progress across the organization.
- Champion Agile principles and help strengthen Agile maturity across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner and/or Software Developer.
- 5+ years leading technical teams while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- 3+ years of experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience managing enterprise-scale software solutions.
- Strong organizational, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence teams and drive successful outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile management tools such as Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps (ADO), Team Services, Mingle, or VSTS.
- Experience working with distributed onshore/offshore teams.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Hands-on software development background.
- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Experience fostering team empowerment and Agile best practices.
