Community Outreach Liaison
Overview
We’re seeking a Community Outreach Liaison to lead employer engagement, community outreach, and training efforts for a statewide workplace wellness initiative. This role is ideal for someone with experience in business development, community engagement, public speaking, or workforce wellness who enjoys building relationships and making a positive impact in their community.

- Shift: Day Shift | 25 Hours/Week | Occasional evening/weekend events

Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach to employers, business groups, chambers of commerce, and community organizations.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers throughout Rhode Island.
- Represent the program at networking events, conferences, workshops, and community forums.
- Deliver presentations and training sessions focused on workplace wellness, mental health, and recovery-supportive practices.
- Manage outreach activities, contacts, and engagement through a CRM platform.
- Develop presentations, marketing materials, and employer success stories.
- Support social media, newsletters, and public engagement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and provide activity and engagement reporting.
- Assist with statewide events, employer recognition programs, and learning sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience delivering presentations, trainings, or workshops.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, CRM platforms, AI tools, and social media.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally.
- Ability to attend occasional early morning, evening, or weekend events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in community outreach, business development, employer engagement, or public relations.
- Experience facilitating group trainings and presentations.
- Knowledge of behavioral health, substance use recovery, workplace wellness, or related initiatives.
- Familiarity with community engagement and workforce development programs.
- Lived experience with recovery from substance use disorder and/or mental health challenges is strongly preferred.
Additional Information
- Contract position with an initial term of at least 6 months and strong potential for extension.
- Local travel required throughout Rhode Island.
- Flexibility to work occasional hours outside normal business hours, with the ability to flex time during the workweek.
