Qualitative Research Evaluator (W2 Contract)
Location: Remote (Rhode Island-based travel required)
Duration: 1 Year Ongoing Up to 4 Years
Schedule: Approximately 60 hours per month, Monday-Friday
Compensation: $107-110 per hour
Overview
Epitec is seeking an experienced Qualitative Research Evaluator to support a large-scale behavioral health system evaluation initiative. This role will lead the design, implementation, and dissemination of qualitative research efforts focused on improving youth behavioral health systems through community engagement, systems-level evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in qualitative research methodologies, systems of care evaluation, grant reporting, and community-engaged research practices. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders while helping shape sustainable evaluation processes that support continuous improvement and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and communicate qualitative research evaluations and findings.
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and report data at both program and systems levels.
- Utilize evaluation findings to support strategic decision-making and system improvements.
- Engage community stakeholders and partners throughout the evaluation process.
- Plan and facilitate qualitative research initiatives involving individuals with lived experience navigating youth behavioral health services.
- Support strategic planning activities and the development of community partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and interagency teams to inform evaluation strategies.
- Maintain secure data reporting tools and dashboards.
- Provide evaluation expertise, recommendations, and project support as needed.
- Support ongoing training and collaboration efforts with family and community evaluation groups.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Human Services, Education, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading qualitative research and evaluation initiatives within complex human services systems.
- Experience conducting systems-level evaluations.
- Experience supporting System of Care grant reporting and evaluation requirements.
- Demonstrated success designing and facilitating community-engaged research projects.
- Strong qualitative research, data analysis, and reporting skills.
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups and community partners.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of the System of Care (SOC) framework.
- Expertise in qualitative research methodologies and participatory evaluation approaches.
- Experience developing sustainable evaluation and continuous quality improvement processes.
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Travel Requirements
- Periodic out-of-state travel may be required to attend national conferences and related events.
- Some local travel may also be required for meetings, public events, and behavioral health initiatives.
- Local travel is not reimbursable.
- Reimbursement may be available for approved out-of-state travel.
