Project/Program Manager IT 4 (Senior UX Program Manager)

About the Opportunity
Join Caterpillar’s Digital User Experience organization as a Senior UX Program Manager and play a key role in shaping how design, engineering, and product teams collaborate at enterprise scale. This is a high-impact position supporting Design Operations initiatives focused on improving efficiency, consistency, transparency, and delivery excellence across multiple product teams.
You will partner closely with UX Design, Research, Product Management, Engineering, and Platform teams to establish scalable processes, drive operational excellence, and ensure successful delivery of strategic user experience programs.
This role is ideal for a seasoned Program or Project Manager who thrives in complex, cross-functional environments and enjoys building processes that enable teams to do their best work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale UX and product development programs from planning through execution and delivery.
- Develop and implement scalable processes, governance models, reporting structures, and program tracking mechanisms.
- Drive resource planning, roadmap alignment, and portfolio visibility across multiple initiatives.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with UX, Engineering, Product, Platform, and Research teams to improve operational effectiveness.
- Establish communication plans and executive-level reporting to ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Promote continuous improvement by simplifying workflows and optimizing team practices.
- Support strategic planning efforts and help define program direction in evolving environments.
- Facilitate cross-functional decision-making and drive clarity among business and technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of Program Management, Project Management, Engineering Program Management, UX Program Management, or related experience.
- Proven experience leading large, cross-functional initiatives through the full product development lifecycle.
- Strong experience with:
- Figma
- Azure DevOps
- Confluence
- Aha!
- Experience with resource planning, forecasting, and program delivery.
- Strong background managing schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting UX Design Operations or Design Systems organizations.
- Experience managing product development portfolios.
- Experience working closely with Product Management, UX Design, UX Research, Engineering, and Platform teams.
- Strong understanding of human-centered design practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive organizational alignment.
