Position: PVT Engineer
Location: Wayne, MI (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Pay: $39-42 per hour
Description: The PVT (Plant Vehicle Team) Engineer is the ‘first line of defense’ regarding Functional system quality for the products produced at the assembly plant. The PVT Engineer has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and fixing quality issues on components shipped into the assembly plant, and processes within the Vehicle Assembly Plant and integrated remote build centers. The PVT Engineer will work with the Body Exterior engineering team to deliver quality objectives heavily focused on Body Exterior Trim, Decals, Bumpers, Latches, and Sealing.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and resolve quality concerns related to incoming components, in?plant processes, and integrated remote build centers
- Partner with the Body Exterior Engineering team to deliver program quality objectives
- Support vehicle launches, production ramp?up, and ongoing production quality
- Conduct daily reviews of incoming warranty claims data
- Review customer and dealership feedback, assigning claims to accurate binning categories
- Contact dealerships to obtain parts and repair diagnoses
- Participate in customer call backs to ensure accurate understanding of customer concerns
- Review returned parts for root cause analysis
- Develop and implement Interim Containment Actions (ICA) and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Product Development (PD), Quality Engineering, Program Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering
- Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
- Experience as a Design Release Engineer
- Experience with WERS release tool
- Six Sigma Black Belt
