Quality Engineer
Location: Waterloo, IA
Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime may be required)
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Contract Duration: 1 year, possibility for extension
Pay: $35/hr
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure quality standards are met, investigate production issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support overall operational excellence.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with manufacturing internship experience as well as early-career professionals looking to develop their quality and manufacturing expertise.
Responsibilities
- Support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts within manufacturing operations.
- Investigate quality concerns and manufacturing issues to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Analyze process and production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, efficiency, and reliability.
- Participate in problem-solving activities and drive implementation of sustainable solutions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining quality documentation, reports, and metrics.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Communications, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing internship, co-op, or professional experience.
- Exposure to quality engineering, manufacturing, operations, process improvement, or data analysis.
- Experience working in a production or industrial environment.
Work Environment
- 100% onsite position.
- Approximately 80% of time spent on the manufacturing floor.
- Candidates must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
- Business casual attire in office areas; required safety equipment must be worn in production areas.
- Safety footwear required.
Additional Information
- Occasional travel between nearby facilities may be required.
- Candidates must successfully complete all required safety training.
- Sponsorship is not available now or in the future for this position.
- This position may involve operating company equipment within facility grounds after completion of required safety certifications and training.
