Quality Specialist II (2nd Shift)

About the Role
Baker Hughes is seeking a Quality Specialist II to join its manufacturing team in Midland, Texas. This position is responsible for inspecting manufactured parts, assemblies, and subassemblies to ensure they meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will have previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify and document quality concerns.
Schedule
Training Schedule
- First Shift
- 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Candidates will begin on days for training.
- Length of training will depend on experience and demonstrated competencies.
Regular Schedule After Training
- Second Shift
- 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Additional Schedule Requirements
- Plant operates 24 hours per day, 5 days per week
- Candidates must be available to work:
- 3 to 5 days per week
- 8-hour or 10-hour shifts as needed
- Weekends when required
- Flexibility is essential based on production demands
Responsibilities
- Inspect parts, assemblies, and subassemblies to engineering drawings and specifications
- Verify components meet quality and customer requirements
- Identify defects and quality concerns
- Create and document non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Initiate corrective action requests for recurring quality issues
- Perform inspections and specialized testing as required
- Verify test results on components and completed assemblies
- Maintain and distribute quality records and documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing and process teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous quality inspection experience
- Ability to read and follow drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing, industrial, oil & gas, aerospace, or automotive quality experience
- Experience with non-conformance reporting and corrective actions
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
