Position Summary
The Document Specialist supports Right of Way and Real Estate operations by performing internal due diligence, preparing land-related agreements, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of land rights documentation. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of land contracts, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducted internal due diligence to verify the accuracy and completeness of land rights documentation and identified deficiencies requiring curative action.
- Prepared land-related contracts and agreements using preapproved templates in accordance with established standards.
- Reviewed and interpreted land legal descriptions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Applied established policies, procedures, and processes to perform work efficiently and consistently.
- Managed and prioritized workload effectively while adapting to changing priorities and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Collaborated with internal stakeholders to support construction, operation, and maintenance of existing and new facilities.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Working knowledge of land-related contracts and agreements, including fee simple, rights-of-way, leases, temporary workspace agreements, licenses, permits, and ordinances.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret land legal descriptions and related documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review.
- Proficiency in following standardized processes and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Right of Way or Real Estate industry.
- Prior experience working in a Document Specialist or similar capacity.
