  • Shift: 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Job Summary

Entry-level position into the safety profession. Apply principles of occupational safety to comply with regulatory agency and company standards for injury and illness reporting. Duties include:

  • Assisting supervisors and employees with injury prevention by identifying hazards and unsafe actions.
  • Developing recommendations for safety processes/programs to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
  • Conducting audits to verify compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Developing and delivering safety presentations and training.
  • Reviewing new products, equipment, and processes for potential hazards and compliance.
  • Communicating with safety equipment suppliers.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group

  • Provide interpretation, analysis, and support for health and safety programs and processes.
  • Spend ~50% of shift on warehouse floor conducting safety observations, incident investigations, and training.
  • Participate in design and implementation of processes to reduce workplace hazards.
  • Compile and analyze data for compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Coordinate safety audits and manage corrective/preventative actions.

Typical Day or Week in the Role

  • Task Breakdown: Safety observations, incident investigations, ergonomic reviews, training, audits, reporting.
  • Team Interaction: Daily communication with supervisors, employees, and safety staff.
  • Work Environment: Fully onsite, standard 8-hour day, 40 hours/week, 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct incident investigations and ergonomic reviews.
  • Manage OSHA recordkeeping and internal safety documentation.
  • Develop recommendations for health and safety programs.
  • Review new processes/equipment for hazards and compliance.
  • Respond to safety-related inquiries and provide training.

Education & Experience Required

  • Safety degree or strong manufacturing safety experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in warehousing/manufacturing environments with a strong safety background.
  • Experience developing and providing safety training.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • CSP accreditation preferred.
  • Must have metatarsal safety shoes on Day 1 (not reimbursable).
