Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support workplace safety, compliance, and risk mitigation initiatives. This role focuses on conducting audits, supporting investigations, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal safety standards in a fast-paced operational environment.

You will be responsible for monitoring safety compliance, maintaining documentation, and partnering with cross-functional teams to reinforce safe work practices. This position requires strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, the ability to manage sensitive information, and a proactive approach to identifying risks and driving improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities

Safety Audits & Compliance Monitoring

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits to identify compliance gaps and risks
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Maintain audit documentation and ensure timely reporting

Incident Investigation & Risk Management

  • Support and facilitate incident investigations to identify root causes
  • Escalate compliance concerns, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership
  • Assist in implementing corrective and preventative actions

Training & Team Support

  • Train and support team members and leadership on safety protocols and audit requirements
  • Reinforce adherence to workplace safety rules and best practices
  • Deliver additional safety-related training as required

Data Management & Reporting

  • Enter and maintain safety-related data in internal systems in a timely and accurate manner
  • Track safety metrics, audit results, and compliance activities
  • Maintain required paperwork to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards

Process Improvement & Additional Safety Programs

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety
  • Support programs such as fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or related safety functions
  • Drive assigned safety actions to completion

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field 
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related role

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910)
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience handling confidential information related to personnel or workplace matters
  • Strong observational and auditing skills
  • Calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, and weekends

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
  • Experience leading or supporting safety programs or teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Experience conducting job hazard analyses and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of worker’s compensation case management
  • Experience with incident response and safety certifications
  • Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Passion for workplace safety and continuous improvement
