Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the monthly financial close process through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and detailed review of administrative expenses. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data and provides analytical support to management for decision-making. The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast?paced environment.
Job Duties:
Prepares, reviews, and posts monthly journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
Assists in the timely and accurate completion of month?end, quarter?end, and year?end close activities to ensure accurate financial records and timely preparation of financial statements.
Works closely with business partners to gather necessary data for accruals and adjustments and ensures items are reconciled in a timely manner in accordance with internal control standards.
Manages complex transactions such as lease accounting, overhead allocations/study, cost accounting, and other accounting transactions to ensure all activity is properly and timely recorded within the financial statements.
Prepares and records monthly and non-recurring general ledger entries to ensure all activity is properly recorded in accordance with financial policies and procedures (including O&M vs. capital).
Performs balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
Analyzes financial results and prepares variance explanation comparing actual results to budget and forecast.
Supports audits by providing requested schedules, explanations, and documentation.
Supports Budget process by providing administrative expense detail and updating allocations. Prepares complex ad hoc reporting as needed to support research, studies, surveys and other ad hoc requests.

Requirements:
Working knowledge and experience applying GAAP
Strongly prefer working knowledge of SAP
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines during peak close periods
High attention to detail and data accuracy
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Education:
Education & Experience:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 4-7 years’ of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
