Senior Application Programmer – Mainframe Systems
Location: Downey, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Onsite initially for at least 6 months, with the possibility of up to 2 days of telework based on project needs.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Programmer – Mainframe Systems to support the design, development, enhancement, implementation, and maintenance of complex enterprise applications in a large-scale mainframe environment. This role will be responsible for analyzing business and system requirements, developing technical solutions, maintaining legacy systems, and supporting critical business operations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ADABAS/NATURAL programming and a strong background working within IBM mainframe environments.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, refine, and translate business and system requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, modify, test, implement, and support complex application software.
- Develop and maintain application architecture, interfaces, and system components.
- Write, debug, optimize, and maintain application code.
- Collaborate with users and stakeholders to validate business requirements and test software solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and system specifications.
- Ensure software quality, reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Integrate software components with databases, infrastructure, and external systems.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and development approaches.
- Support information security and data protection requirements throughout the application lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise application development and programming within mainframe environments.
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on ADABAS/NATURAL programming experience.

- JCL, TSO/ISPF, Predict, N2O, and CA Endevor
- EntireX and Cloverleaf integration experience
