Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred
• 8+ years of experience in retail management, category/channel management, or consumer electronics
• Proven success driving sales growth and market share in national retail and carrier channels
• Experience in the consumer electronics and/or mobile sector, especially audio products
Summary:
Client’s seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Category & Channel Manager to lead the growth of our client’s headphones category across national retailers and carriers. This role will develop and execute lifecycle strategies, optimize shelf space, and drive revenue through strong retail partnerships and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, analytical rigor, and a passion for consumer electronics.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute end-to-end category strategies to grow headphone sales
• Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities
• Build and maintain relationships with key retail and carrier partners
• Negotiate shelf space, promotions, and pricing strategies
• Lead merchandising efforts including product placement and digital campaigns
• Drive product launches, seasonal promotions, and field training
• Lead Quarterly QCD plans to align sales goals with operational efficiency
• Monitor performance metrics and optimize product mix and inventory
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and supply chain teams
• Conduct market analysis and provide insights for strategic decisions
• Manage Retail P&L and investment budgets to maximize ROI
Must-Have Skills:
• Strong strategic thinking and execution across category/channel management
• Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau
• Ability to manage multiple projects and influence stakeholders
• Familiarity with retail analytics platforms (e.g., Circana, GAP Intelligence)
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA or advanced business degree
• Experience with audio products in consumer electronics
• Strong presentation and communication skills across all levels
