Senior Safety Specialist
This role leads the development and execution of advanced safety programs across R&D facilities, reporting to the Head of Workplace Services. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, designing training, investigating incidents, and driving strategic safety initiatives using data analytics. The position supports the Experienced Safety Specialist and Workplace Services team, with work spanning offices, labs, and garages, and requires ~20% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Use data analytics to identify trends and improve safety.
- Communicate safety policies and report data to regulators and MBAG.
- Maintain emergency response plans and support site-specific projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Safety, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering.
- 5+ years in SHE roles within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Strong regulatory knowledge and analytical skills.
- Effective communicator and team leader.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety software.
- Able to work in varied environments and respond to emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications like CSP or CIH.
- Experience with VPP, ISO 9001/14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001.
