Job Title: Service Technician – 1st Shift
Contract Duration: 1 year
Location: Largo, FL
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
Summary
Service Technicians support the mission of saving and sustaining lives by performing repair and/or electrical-mechanical testing on in-home dialysis machines and infusion pumps. This role works as part of a production/service line team, following documented procedures to ensure the highest quality and compliance standards. Team members may also support other areas such as shipping, assembly, repair, and testing as business needs require.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety procedures, policies, and SOPs.
- Maintain a proactive safety-first mindset focused on accident prevention and zero harm.
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and complete all required documentation accurately.
- Perform repair, assembly, testing, and inspection activities according to standard work instructions.
- Maintain steady workflow on the servicing line while working independently and collaboratively.
- Use established procedures and device readings to make sound judgments; escalate concerns as needed.
- Rotate into additional functional areas such as assembly, repair, shipment preparation, spare parts, and testing as needed.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment to assemble and disassemble medical devices.
- Utilize test equipment and measurement tools to verify devices meet specifications.
- Perform scheduled calibration of test stations and equipment when required.
- Prepare packaging materials, package finished products, and transport pallets for shipment.
- Receive incoming products and disinfect/sanitize devices, equipment, and work areas using approved cleaning solutions.
- Assist with training other employees as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including overtime when required.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and navigating multiple systems.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers) is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of testing tools (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, hipot testers) is a plus.
- Must be willing and able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform frequent walking, stooping, reaching, grasping, and fine motor tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs routinely and up to 42 lbs when working in shipping areas.
- Ability to work with cleaning and sanitizing solutions such as diluted bleach.
- Ability to occasionally handle medical devices that may have been exposed to bodily fluids or insects.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous electrical, mechanical assembly, repair, or testing experience preferred but not required.
