Job Description:
We are seeking a Platform Software Engineer to design, build, and support scalable cloud-based data platform solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role combines software engineering, data engineering, and cloud expertise, with a focus on developing microservices, data pipelines, APIs, and full-stack applications that enable enterprise-wide data capabilities. The ideal candidate has strong Java or Python development experience, deep knowledge of cloud-native technologies, and a passion for automation, reliability, and data-driven innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and microservices supporting real-time and batch processing on GCP.
- Build and implement service-oriented and microservices-based architectures for enterprise data platform solutions.
- Contribute to full-stack development efforts, integrating front-end and back-end components to support data access and visualization.
- Lead data ingestion and integration initiatives, ensuring data is standardized, optimized, and accessible for analytics.
- Utilize GCP technologies including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Dataproc to build and manage cloud data solutions.
- Implement data governance, security controls, RBAC, encryption, and data protection best practices.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of data platforms and services.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams to establish design patterns, frameworks, and engineering best practices.
- Automate platform operations and deployment processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and platform services that enable seamless system integration.
- Support CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), source control, testing, and software release processes.
- Leverage AI and machine learning technologies to accelerate platform delivery and solve complex business problems.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.
