Software Engineer – Java Full Stack (CAD/CAE Applications)
Location: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) in Dearborn, MI
Type: W2 contract, ongoing. No C2C
Pay: $50-$80 / hour, depending on experience and benefits.
About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support Propulsion in-house developed applications within the CAD/CAE domain. This role requires strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Java, Angular, cloud technologies, and software testing. The selected candidate will work through the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, debugging, testing, and deployment within a version-controlled environment using GitHub.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand use cases, pain points, and requirements while advocating for user-centric software solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable software solutions using modern tools, frameworks, technologies, and Agile methodologies.
- Assess application requirements and determine appropriate technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
- Create high-level software architecture designs, defining application structure, components, and interfaces.
- Follow development practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD).
- Develop user-friendly front-end applications and maintain back-end APIs and microservices.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies to improve solution delivery and development efficiency.

Required Experience
- 5+ years of Java Full Stack development, building scalable web applications using microservices architecture and APIs.
- 3+ years of Angular development
- 5+ years of SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL database experience.
- Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, GCS Buckets) and cloud deployments.
- Strong experience with functional, integration, regression, and automated testing.
- Experience writing and analyzing complex SQL queries within relational databases.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
