Software Engineer 3 (Java Developer)
Location: Irving, TX (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Compensation: $70-74/hr + Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, and 401(k) Match
Join a team developing mission-critical software that supports large-scale mining operations around the world. This role is part of a growing U.S.-based engineering team responsible for delivering and modernizing a complex enterprise platform used in safety-critical environments where performance, reliability, and scalability matter.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
- Build scalable microservices and distributed systems within a modern containerized environment.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on quality and reliability.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, refinement sessions, estimation, and delivery planning.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product owners, and SMEs located across multiple countries.
- Troubleshoot production and non-production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Support modernization efforts as existing platforms evolve into a microservices-based architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5-7 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong Java development experience, including modern Java versions.
- Experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
- Understanding of event-driven architecture, data ingestion, and messaging patterns.
- Experience with relational and/or modern database technologies.
- Knowledge of multithreaded and concurrent application development.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerized environments.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise platforms or mission-critical systems.
- Background in industries involving physical products, industrial systems, manufacturing, mining, automotive, defense, or similar environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and trace log analysis skills.
