Overview
Epitec is seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join a high-performing team developing critical features for a modern in-vehicle infotainment platform. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support new Android-based infotainment features.
- Implement customer-facing functionality with a strong focus on quality, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate within an Agile software development team.
- Investigate, debug, and resolve software defects.
- Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes for future product enhancements.
- Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and stability.
- Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Test and validate software in real-world automotive environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 3+ years of Android development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Kotlin.
- Experience working at the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) level, including:
- Headless services
- APIs
- AIDLs
- HAL/HIDL
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development principles.
- Experience executing xTS test suites and troubleshooting reported issues.
- Experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as:
- gTest
- gMock
- Robolectric
- Mockito
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Android application development experience.
- Experience using Android Debug Bridge (ADB).
- Advanced debugging skills using gdb and static analysis tools.
- Experience flashing hardware modules.
- Strong Linux proficiency.
- Embedded software development experience in automotive, mobile, or related environments.
- Experience with C programming.
- Master's degree in a related field.
