Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Pay: $50-55 per hour 

Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications that support critical consumer and vehicle-facing features. This role will be responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions while working in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), APIs, and CI/CD practices, along with a passion for software craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers, business stakeholders, Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and UI/UX Designers to understand business needs, user pain points, and technical requirements.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern software development practices.
  • Evaluate software requirements and determine appropriate technology stacks, deployment strategies, integration methods, and architectural approaches.
  • Create high-level software architecture designs, including system components, interfaces, and integrations.
  • Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end applications using Angular.
  • Build and maintain back-end services, APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Implement and support software testing strategies, including test automation, test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality code through code reviews, automated testing, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Develop test plans, execute testing activities, and support continuous software releases.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability while introducing new technologies to improve development efficiency.
  • Support software security initiatives, including data encryption, anonymization, and secure coding practices.
  • Lead and mentor software engineers by breaking down work, solving technical challenges, and supporting team success.
  • Develop tools, processes, and automation solutions that streamline software delivery and eliminate operational waste.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve products and platform capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 6+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Practical experience in at least two programming languages or advanced experience in one programming language.
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise software applications using Agile methodologies.
  • Technical skills: Java, Spring Boot, Angular, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), REST APIs, CI/CD tools and practices, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Rally, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Experience working on large-scale connected consumer, digital, or vehicle technology platforms.
  • Experience building and supporting microservices architectures.
  • Strong understanding of software quality standards and continuous delivery practices.
  • Experience implementing automated testing, monitoring, and observability solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Technical skills: SonarQube, Dynatrace, Tekton, Apigee, Swagger/OpenAPI, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Spring Cloud, Cloud deployment experience, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud platforms
