Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Mobile Systems Engineer with strong client-server and distributed systems experience to design, build, and optimize software solutions across wearable devices, mobile applications, and backend services.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing mobile products using Kotlin and/or Swift, with a deep understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, and system-level engineering principles. This role requires expertise in designing scalable architectures, debugging complex multithreaded systems, and improving overall system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement software systems spanning wearable devices, iOS/Android mobile applications, and distributed backend services.
- Develop high-quality mobile applications using Kotlin and/or Swift.
- Debug and resolve race conditions, thread-safety issues, deadlocks, and other complex concurrency challenges.
- Optimize CPU utilization, memory consumption, latency, and system reliability.
- Architect and enhance scalable, high-performance client-server systems.
- Collaborate across teams and effectively communicate technical concepts.
Required Skills
- Strong experience building mobile products using Kotlin and/or Swift with distributed backend systems.
- Expertise in concurrency, asynchronous programming, and multithreaded systems.
- Strong background in system design, architecture, performance optimization, and reliability engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid software engineering and programming fundamentals.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing wearable devices such as smart glasses, smartwatches, or mixed reality headsets.
- Proficiency in C++ or Rust.
- Experience with AI/ML engineering, including:
- LLM prompt tuning
- Model evaluation
- Tool calling
- Agent workflows
Experience Required
- 10+ years of software engineering experience preferred.
- Candidates with 7+ years may be considered with NTH skills.
