Job Summary
The Sourcing Specialist – Software is responsible for supporting the development and execution of sourcing strategies for software procurement across a global environment. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to drive cost savings, ensure compliance, and optimize supplier relationships while managing sourcing initiatives for on-prem, SaaS, and cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of annual and long-term sourcing strategies and pipeline plans for the software category.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives through effective sourcing and supplier management strategies.
  • Lead RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and manage commercial contract negotiations with software suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including IT, legal, finance, cybersecurity, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Mitigate supplier risks through effective contract structuring, negotiation, and ongoing supplier management.
  • Communicate project status, sourcing activities, and compliance requirements to business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to IT and cross-functional teams to support business outcomes and KPI tracking.
  • Manage multiple sourcing projects and related activities within a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Ensure alignment with global cybersecurity and data privacy regulations in all software procurement activities.

Years of Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in technology sourcing focused on software (on-premises, SaaS, and cloud environments).

Skills Required

  • Experience negotiating and redlining software contracts.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing strategy development and category management.
  • Ability to leverage internal and external data to develop sourcing and category plans.
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to execute sourcing strategies aligned to business needs.
  • Knowledge of global cybersecurity and data privacy considerations related to software procurement.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
