Job Description: Job Title: Sr. Pega Developer
Contract Duration: 3-6 months, possible extension
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Work Arrangement: Remote

PROJECT INFO
3-6 month project related to PEGA (v. 8.8) to Cloud migration (on-prem) Postgres DB project. Former FB contractors highly preferred based on our custom PEGA-implementation that we use (customized and complex, not what other companies typically use).

TEAM
Current size of team is (8) Developers, (4) testers that handle both on-prem and migration work

SUMMARY
IT Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. They will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle which include: gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, responding to outages and creating application system models. IT Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications and will participate in evaluating, conducting performance testing, and all planned and unplanned maintenance for both internally developed applications and purchased products. Participate in design meetings and consult with clients to refine, test and debug programs to meet business needs and interact and sometimes direct third party partners in the achievement of business and technology initiatives. IT Developers are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for system development and support of solutions to business problems
  • Responsible for Case Management, Business Services, JDE and Master Data Management
  • Responsible for development according to standards and best practices
  • Will participate in design sessions towards the successful implementation of more complex requirements; define the class structure of data and work objects
  • Will perform appropriate tasks required to initiate a project based on the version of PRPC being used (the Application Profiler/ Accelerator or Stage Configuration)

REQUIREMENTS
Pega Certified – CSSA (Preferred) or CLSA (Preferred)
8+ years of total experience in building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions using Pega PRPC.
Hands on experience on PEGA 8.x versions and Infinity
Experience in handling the Production support work
Good Analytics and Logical skills to quickly debug and resolve production issues
Expert in implementing integrations such as REST, SOAP, File Listener, MQ and Error handling.
Experience on creating technical rules such as Data Pages, Activities, Data transforms, Flows, Case Types, Decision rules etc. following the branching strategy
Adhere to the best practices including but not limited to Pega and team specific Guardrails.
Review alert logs to ensure quality standards. Run pre-flight and PAL to insure performance and quality.
Good understanding of UX/UI and experience on working with Portals, Skins, Flow Action, Sections and all the UI components.
Hands on Background Jobs Implementation and configuration.
Experience in Admin Studio and SMA configurations and must be able to improve the performance of application.
Experience in Oracle and SQL Database operations
Good understanding of PEGA container management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Various Domain experience; Health Care, Financial, etc.
  • Pega Cloud migration and upgrade to 24.2
  • Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodology
  • Specific tools, languages and specialty skills may vary

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or relevant work experience
  • Pega Certified – CSSA (Preferred) or CLSA (Preferred)
  • 5-8+ years of IT development/programming/coding professional work experience
  • 5-8+ years of experience as PRPC application developer
  • 5-8+ years of architecture and design experience
  • 5-8+ years of programming experience installing/configuring PEGA upgrades (Pega 8.4 to 8.8 upgrade experience is preferred)
  • Integration with external Kafka required
  • Strong Linux Administration experience required
  • Experience with application/platform performance monitoring tools such as PAL, PMI, AES and Windows Performance Monitor
  • Strong working knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD) using Jenkins and other open-source tool
  • Web application experience in WebSphere Liberty App Server (WebSphere/JBOSS/Tomcat experience preferred)
  • Hands-on experience using Pega Constellation architecture Theme Cosmos on the traditional UI architecture
  • Exposure to DX API
