Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
Schedule: 40 hours/week with potential overtime and occasional Saturdays
Interview Process: 1 round (onsite preferred for local candidates)
Pay: $42 an hr

Job Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer / Team Lead to provide engineering analysis, advanced troubleshooting, and technical leadership in a manufacturing environment. This role will support factory equipment reliability, maintenance operations, and continuous improvement initiatives while leading a team of skilled trades employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support and advanced troubleshooting for manufacturing equipment and tooling
  • Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Assign and monitor work for skilled trades personnel to support maintenance, repairs, and project work
  • Develop and manage short-term work schedules to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety
  • Review and optimize spare parts lists, preventive maintenance plans, and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies; promote safe work practices across the team
  • Identify and address risks, escalating critical safety or operational issues when necessary
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing production and equipment performance improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of maintenance, mechanical engineering, or factory automation experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment (tooling, fixtures, assembly equipment)
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and supporting equipment reliability initiatives
  • Prior experience supervising or leading teams of 20+ employees in a union environment
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work 2nd shift and support extended hours or weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance leadership within a union environment
  • Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system diagnostics
  • Experience with automation systems, including Allen-Bradley components and Rockwell PLC software
  • Experience working with machine communication protocols (Ethernet, DeviceNet, Serial, Profibus, Modbus)
  • Experience using SAP PM module for maintenance tracking and planning
  • Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79)

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
